I recently ordered a few things from Paperchase, and I am super happy with them so I thought I would write a review (because I'm a stationery nerd and it makes me happy).

Scrapbook:

I'm nearly at the end of my current scrapbook so I thought I would order a new one. This one looks so pretty and it's a great size. I'm not a fan of the brown pages, but I'm still super happy with it. I'm so excited to get started on it. 8/10.

Mr Men Stickers:

I love these! They're super cute and make decorating my scrapbook fun and easy. The stickers also stick really well unlike lots of novelty stickers, which makes a nice change. They also make me feel nostalgic for my childhood. 10/10.

Cactus Stickers:

These are also adorable! I've already started using these on my scrapbook and I love them. Again, they actually stay stuck too. Amazing. 10/10.

Unicorn Stickers:

I've had unicorn stickers from Paperchase before and they were the cutest things ever, but these weren't as adorable. Still good as stickers though. 8/10.

Teddy Bear Pencil Topper Rubbers:

These were so cute! A little heavy for writing with but still really sweet. They came in 4 colours, pink, blue, purple and green. I've kept a couple for myself and the rest will be gift toppers for my friends. 9/10.

Gift Tags (Set of 5):

These are really pretty, a good size, and a thick card that you can write with fancy pens on. I love the design, and they were a good price. 10/10.

Purple Gel Pen:

Yes, that is one of the Teddy pencil toppers on it. This is a great colour, writes smoothly and doesn't leak everywhere. 10/10.

Gift Tags (Set of 10):

These were actually too small, and not as pretty as I thought they would be. I have used them as decorations in my scrapbooks instead of using them as gift tags, so they weren't a complete waste. For just a name and no message, they'd be fine. 8/10.

Mother's Day Card:

Unfortunately I'm stupid, so I already sealed this before I took a photo but you can see it in the picture of the box. It's really pretty and my mum is going to love it. It also comes with a protector for your card which is a great idea! 10/10.

Elephant Postcard:

I bought this for the scrapbook I'm making for my boyfriend, and I love it. The design is really adorable and the card is super thick so if you wanted to send it in the post it wouldn't be easily damaged. 10/10.

You're My Happy Place Postcard:

Again, this card was for my boyfriend's scrapbook and again I loved it. It had the same good properties as the elephant card. 10/10.

About a week ago I decided to go on a stationery shopping trip to buy everything I needed in order to stay organised and encourage myself to keep working. On my trip I went to both Ryman and Muji in central London and below are the things I have purchased. Enjoy.

To start with, here comes a test of all the pens I have purchased on my trip. I decided to go for quite a few coloured pens rather than buying just black, navy and blue pens from Muji because although they are nice, the coloured pens are a far better investment if you are looking to invest into one of the two or want to prioritise one over the other as they last longer and feel great to write with. Those of you who enjoy diagrams and colour coding, these pens are wonderful and are definitely worth investing into if you are a colour fan. The thinner writing at the very top of the image represents a test of the new 0.25 hexagon pen which i decided to purchase from Muji. It is very easy to write with and is incredibly thin. If you are looking for something thinner than the 0.38 pens from Muji then perhaps this is worth giving a try. All of the other pens on this page come in 0.5 thickness and are smooth, not overly thin and are very nice to write with.

Here is a little test of the pastel Stabilo highlighters which I purchased from Ryman. I personally prefer the pastel highlighters to the neon ones released by Stabilo because the colours are much nicer and have much more soothing tones, which makes them perfect on a day when I feel more stressed. The colours produced by this brand are generally incredibly good as they tend to last the entire year if not longer and do not get dry over a short period of time. Overall, I feel like the aesthetic and the practical benefits of them make these highlighters worth the investment.

Aside from my pens I have also decided to purchase some other stationery which I would categorise as "the usual" as those are the supplies everyone purchases before the start of every new academic year; pens, rubber, ruler, you name it. I also decided to purchase a clear pencil case for this year as I feel like that is what works best for me due to the fact that I can see all of my supplies and easily get what I need or identify what I need to put into my pencil case. I purchased this particular pencil case from Ryman, however you can get it from Ebay or Amazon too.

I purchased the same planner from Muji last year and absolutely fell in love with it. The reason why I think that Muji planners work so well is because they are incredibly minimal, aesthetic but are nonetheless very effective in allowing you to note down everything you need to keep in check. This year the company also included a burgundy bookmark which is useful at helping you find the page you are on ( this becomes very handy as the year progresses) and therefore stops you from having to flick through the pages in an attempt to note down homework, reading or a meeting.

Another reason why I absolutely adore my Muji planner is because it is perfect for the school year as it starts from September. I feel like the fact that it starts from September rather than January makes it a useful tool in terms of allowing you to mark the start of your school year as a fresh start. Moreover, it also prevents you from having to replace your planner midway through the academic year and therefore ensures that all of your tasks are kept in one place and you don't miss anything out due to it being in your old planner.

Here are some photos of the notebooks which I decided to purchase from Muji whilst on my trip. I decided to get a range of different notebooks - one with grid paper, one with plain paper and one with regular lined paper in order to see what works best for me. Although I decided to go digital this year in order to be able to keep up with all of the material at university I think that having a few notebooks can be incredibly useful in order to maintain your own lists and notes, having a gratitude journal or just random thoughts you feel like noting down when you are stressed or anxious. I have personally found that writing on paper has helped me get my mind in order on days when I was feeling less good during the academic year and would once again say that keeping regular notebooks at hand is always useful. The Muji notebooks are my personal favourites because they look very simple and therefore don't make me feel like my life is more and more cluttered but also have incredibly soft paper which is nice to write on when you feel like picking up a pen and paper.

Lastly, I also purchased some folders before the start of this new academic year alongside some dividers which I find very useful at helping me separate information within my folders and therefore make the large ring binders easier to navigate. I purchased both my folders and dividers from Ryman as their folders tend to last a long time period and look nice and presentable. I purchased the regular folders sold at Ryman, all in different colours in order to assign them to different subjects and therefore make my system of organisation easier to navigate.

My relatively busy Tuesday consisted of a little trip to one of the Muji stores in London. Apart from the stationery being absolutely stunning, all of the Muji stores tend to have a very nice, minimalist atmosphere which is absolutely perfect if you want to relax a little or simply want to look at/buy gorgeous stationery you might have encountered on Tumblr.

I'd say that Muji is one of my absolute favourite stationery stores in London, primarily because the price is definitely worth the quality you get. It probably isn't the cheapest store but going there every so often became my own little reward ritual and I just generally enjoy going there for the aesthetic. Unsurprisingly, that is also the store where the majority of the study bloggers on Tumblr purchase some of their beautiful stationery, so it often is worth the trip for the aesthetic.

During my visit today I decided to pick up two notebooks - one black and one beige, alongside a few pens, one of which was the ultra thin hexagon pen. I also purchased a bright green pen to add to my collection, as I managed to run out of green ink over the past year and needed a good quality pen to replace the old one. I plan to use one of my notebooks as a bullet journal in order to make sure that I stay organised on busy days and encourage myself to get out of bed even on days when I have less to do, by having little notes to myself and minor tasks to do. I will be documenting my bullet journal journey soon on the blog too.

As my time at university approaches, I have been a little worried about feeling homesick so I've started a collection of items to bring with me that will make my dorm room feel more homely. I began by buying goldfish, fairy lights and scented candles, but found that photographs were really the best way to keep a piece of home with me wherever I go. I have mentioned my love of LALALAB in some of my previous posts, and was lucky enough to be sent some free prints by them which have really helped me develop these ideas.

I have always enjoyed making scrapbooks, and my mum and her sister always used to help me when I was a kid. As I've got older my scrapbooks feature more photos and postcards than drawings of people that are really just faces with stick legs. LALALAB's prints (my favourite kind are known as vintage in the app) are perfect for adding sentimental value to a page.

Another way that I like to make my room feel more homely is photo albums. They're easy to store too, so they're perfect if you don't have much room in your house. I have a few slot in albums, but I find for displaying the polaroids I'm so keen on square shaped scrapbooks are best. I use double-sided tape to stick my prints in and add little notes on the side to help me remember the occasion.

For looking at your photos on a daily basis however, both of these options aren't so good so I discovered pin boards and photo wires were best for displaying multiple photos. Photo frames are great but generally only allow for certain sizes or numbers of photos. The packaging that LALALAB uses is also gorgeous so I even cut parts of it out to feature on my pin board.
